Dr. Ruth Montalvo joined Digestive Care Physicians in 2019. She previously worked as a gastroenterologist in Albany, Georgia with over 18 years of experience. As an advocate of screenings, she knows lives can be saved with early treatment and preventative measures. She received her BS degree from University of Puerto Rico and Doctorate of Medicine from University of Puerto Rico, School of Medicine.

She was board certified in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas, San Antonio, TX. completed her Gastroenterology Residency and Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center. She was awarded Diplomate in Gastroenterology at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio as well specializing in ERCP and Liver Transplantation. She is a member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and American Gastroenterology.
